On March 26, 2011 I completed the WaterART Fitness Rehabilitation Certification Course Theory and Practical, and am currently studying to complete my Certification Exam.

Currently I hold:

  • WaterART Personal Training Specialist Certification
  • WaterART Arthritis Instructor Certification.

Water rehabilitation is being used for pain management programs, post-mastectomy patients, cardiac rehabilitation, and orthopedic settings such as in sports medicine, muscle conditioning, joint arthroplasty and back rehabilitation programs.

Gentle, progressive water exercise may greatly benefit people in pain because water supports and protects the joints. Water also allows for quicker healing processes and pain free restoration of function to help more people return to activities of daily living, work, and recreation.

Aquatic rehabilitation is also an option for clients who are unable to participate in land-based exercise due to recent surgery, acute orthopedic or neuromuscular injury, rheumatological disease, or neurological impairment.

I have worked with people of all ages from sports accidents, pre and post replacement surgeries and stroke victims. I used the water to recover from bi-lateral frozen shoulders and thoracic-outlet syndrome so I know personally how healing the water can be!
